Architecting Order from a Decade of Legacy Data

For ten years, a national security firm managed complex IOT(Cameras, Senors) installations using an evolving web of unstructured data. As complexity grew, so did the friction: change propagation was slow, audits were manual, and the logic was buried in a workbook that had reached its architectural limit.

There is a striking parallel between a decade-old IoT workbook and a contract: both are prone to Entropy. Over time, clauses and data points are added as "patches" until the original logic is buried under layers of debt.

Silvertine was engaged to decouple this legacy logic and build a standardized, rule-based pricing engine. The requirement was dual-faceted: the system needed to model 100s of interchangeable parts and labor variables while adhering strictly to the Essential Eight cybersecurity framework.

The resulting platform and model transformed data into a real-time strategic asset. Beyond the functional recovery, the architecture passed an independent, undisclosed penetration test, verifying that the new system was not only efficient but structurally secure.
